Workers Compensation Defense Attorney (Part-Time) Duties: Direct and support investigation on all assigned cases. Analyze and assess case value to aid in early resolution. Evaluate, create and execute a litigation plan to cover all phases of litigation. Maintain communication with client through the course of the claim. Comply with all litigation and budgeting guidelines. Perform legal research on relevant issues. Represent the interests of the employer/carrier at hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and other proceedings. Communicate with the worker s supervisors on the injured workers status. Negotiate settlements on behalf of the employer/carrier. Ability to market the practice of workers compensation to carriers. Qualifications: JD Degree and current good standing with CA State Bar is required. 3+ years experience working in the Worker Compensation area of practice. Knowledge regarding the use and retention of medical-legal and vocational experts. Knowledge of current workers compensation law and cases.
