Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will greet and communicate with clients and guests in person or on the telephone in a courteous and professional manner- including answering, screening and/or directing inquiries. Represent attorney by communicating and obtaining information, following up on delegated assignments, and knowing when to act and when to defer to the attorney. Complete clerical work - including opening and closing files; and organizing pleadings, orders, and correspondence. Appropriately calendar appointments for the attorney. Manage clients by timely informing clients of upcoming deadlines and by acquiring documents or information requested by the attorney. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintain personal networks. E-filing documents. Review emails, respond to emails with direction from attorney. Draft, with the help of the attorney, emails, letters, pleadings, orders, pretrial motions, discovery responses, and subpoenas. Prepare Exhibits for Court Hearings. Proofread all documents before they go out to client, other attorneys, or the Court. Communicate with Court Coordinators. Schedule, as directed by the attorney, hearings, mediations, and other appointments. Additional Tasks as needed.
