Paralegal- Personal Injury Practice Duties: Report directly to a Lead Paralegal within the firm, and will be assisting in the preparation of court documents, setting of depositions, court filing, and administrative support in regards to cases. Provides support to attorneys by creating and maintaining legal files. Manages and organizes documents and data collected during the case. Conducts research, writes legal drafts, such as complaints, pleadings, subpoenas, interrogatories, deposition notices, and pretrial orders. Prepares written communication and legal correspondence on behalf of the attorneys. Maintains/monitors/coordinates the schedules of various attorneys. Calls/communicates with clients, witnesses, lawyers, experts, court personnel, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, hearings, meetings, and depositions. Schedules and calendars court dates and related deadlines. Files and serves legal paperwork to various courts and opposing counsel. Communicates and coordinates with clerical staff to arrange for the delivery of legal paperwork. Assists attorneys, fellow paralegals, and support staff in the preparation of trial.
Qualifications: Paralegal Certification. Completion of a paralegal training course. 5 years experience as a paralegal, experience in personal injury law preferred. Associates Degree preferred. Strong writing skills and experience in litigation. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
