Defense Litigation Attorney The candidate will handle the pretrial discovery phase of case files that will include responding to written discovery, attending depositions, meeting with clients, reviewing medical and employment records, drafting and writing substantive motions and handling a variety of court appearances in state and federal court. Must have 3+ years experience to join litigation firm handling tort and governmental entity defense cases. Should have experience in both areas. Must have strong academic credentials as well as excellent writing and oral advocacy skills. Must be admitted and in good standing to the California Bar. Must have an active license in good standing to practice law in California. Must have the ability to respond quickly to clients. Must be able to analyze legal problems, interprets laws and regulations. Must have advanced knowledge of legal principles and practices related to personal injury defense, and governmental entity defense under California law. Must be creative in approach to litigation defense and resolution. Must have integrity, strong oral and written communication skills, time management skills, critical thinking skills and must be a team player.
