Compliance Attorney Duties: Advising partners, attorneys and the Compliance Team regarding the identification and resolution of potential conflicts of interests, including the relevant legal and ethical considerations. Monitoring the resolution of conflicts issues and the development of compliance obligations world-wide, including issues related to firm s Global Practice Standards addressing stock and share dealings, external appointments, prohibitions on bribery, corruption and discrimination, economic sanctions, anti-money laundering requirements, and (to some extent) cyber security considerations. Liaising with and assisting the Compliance Teams. Assisting with and monitoring record-keeping issues in conjunction with the Head of Compliance US. Assisting the Head of Compliance US with preparing and presenting compliance presentations and training. Maintaining databases of directorships and trusteeships, client relationship letters and arbitral appointments in conjunction with others. Maintaining the insider-dealing database in conjunction with others. Producing risk reports for senior management in conjunction with others. Assisting the Compliance Team with the collection and review of documentation provided by potential clients in order to ensure compliance with the UK Money Laundering Regulations 2007 and other anti-money laundering regulations. Qualifications: Licensed to practice law in one or more States in which firm has an office (particularly Texas, New York, California, and the District of Columbia). Qualification to practice law in England, Wales, or the United Kingdom or in Canada or Australia would also be beneficial. 0-4 years experience working as an attorney or in the regulatory area in a similar international legal practice. A thorough acquaintance with and working knowledge of US conflicts rules. Highly intelligent with excellent commercial judgment. Strong written and oral communication skills with experience operating in a multi-cultural environment. Sufficient maturity and judgment to work successfully and confidently with all levels including senior management and partners. Be sufficiently confident to exercise risk-based judgment calls on a daily basis. Be fully familiar with a lawyer s duties regarding confidentiality, privilege and client care. Flexibility regarding working schedule is a plus. Highly analytical with an ability to anticipate potential problems and creatively propose/implement solutions.
