Join this dynamic, large Connecticut firm that specializes in representing high tech and Internet companies in the areas of corporate law, litigation, and IP. The firm also has a strong trusts and estates practice that represents many high net worth individuals. Associates are treated well, and they receive interesting work and good formal and informal training. The firm is now looking to hire more first-class attorneys from top schools and firms.
Legal Secretary The candidate will be responsible to document creation by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and scanning. Transmitting text, data and graphics via email, flash drives and eFiling. Creation of charts and other visual documents. Document assembly and large mailings when needed. Scheduling and calendaring appointments. Greeting and seating clients. Handling phone calls with clients, colleagues and outside professionals; initiating teleconferences. Witnessing or notarizing documents. Administrative tasks as needed for attorney, including expense report tracking and preparation. Conserve attorneys time by reviewing and routing correspondence. Maintain attorney calendar for client appointments, professional development conferences, teleconferences, and travel. Represent attorney by communicating and obtaining information; knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney. Generate revenues by inputting attorney billable time and reimbursable expenses. Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential. Must have strong Microsoft Word skills, and be competent working in Excel and other Office applications. Should be detailed oriented, organized, and have the ability to manage a heavy flow of assignments. Legal Secretary experience for 5 years is preferred. High school or equivalent is required.
