Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will digital and physical case file management. Answer calls from prospective and existing clients, and front desk duties, as needed. Manage and maintain customer relationship management systems and processes. Manage attorney calendar. Draft letters to the court, counsel, clients, and other parties. Draft pleadings and motions. Assist with discovery, including copying and bate-stamping. Assist attorneys with trial preparation. Keep track of time, billing, and payments from clients. Maintain a client conflict database and update it as necessary. Keep track of client costs and invoices. Book initial consultations and take payments. Docket and calendar management. Fax, scan, and copy documents. Arrange for courier services, court reporting, and service of process. Organize files and open/close office. Maintain database of active and closed files. Oversee day-to-day office administration and management tasks.
The candidate should preferably have a Paralegal/Legal Assistant Certification, and Associate? A A?s Degree / Bachelor's degree. Should have 1+ years of Family law and litigation experience, and 2+ years of Legal Assitant experience is preferred. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Dropbox, and Adobe. Clio and Canva experience a plus. Able to conduct legal research. Website / Social media management is desired. Must have a sense of humor. Notary, or ability to qualify as a notary. Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, be flexible, think on your feet, make decisions based on good common sense, and ability to closely follow established policies and procedures. Must have the ability to learn from constructive feedback, and the ability to genuinely connect with clients and potential clients. The ability to deal with the occasional difficult individual, with grace and professionalism. Familiarity with family and business litigation is a plus.
