San Diego office seeks a litigation technical specialist (temporary) with 1-2 years of relevant technical experience (automated litigation or database support). The candidate will convert native files such as Eudora email and other Microsoft file data into a standard tiff format using the latest eDiscovery tools (LAW 5.0, Discovery Cracker, Extractiva). Ensure quality control in all phases of the electronic conversion process. Analyze data, identify problems and recommend corrective action, if needed, to senior litigation support staff. Troubleshoot common conversion errors and provide data validation to ensure quality assurance on all final products. Responsible for the day-to-day tracking of litigation source data and assigning of internal control numbers used to track source collections. Handle all data entry into Microsoft Access collection databases or other department database tools. Export Doculex data files from collection volumes, create new Concordance databases, and import data into Concordance as needed. Conduct searches and formulate effective search syntax. Responsible for the maintenance, loading and quality control of document databases, images and load files. Assist in user training to the legal group regarding common data tools and databases used within the department such as Concordance, iConect and other eDiscovery tools (LAW 5.0, Doculex, PDF Capture). General legal experience is preferred. Bachelor's degree is required or 4 years of equivalent experience is needed. Working understanding of the litigation discovery process is helpful. Familiarity with various litigation support applications, such as Concordance, Doculex, iConect, Discovery Cracker, LAW 5.0 and Extractiva is essential. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and Access is needed. Ability to create subsets of data or take previously collected volumes and transfer the data in between multiple Concordance databases is required.
