Paralegal - Probate and Trust Administration Duties: Maintain superior relations with clients, client representatives, accountants, trust officers, and other parties. Professionally and effectively work with clients in stressful and sensitive situations. Duties performed under attorney supervision Marshall, collect and value assets of an estate and trust, including coordination of appraisals for personal property, real estate and business entities. Coordinate sale of auction of items, as necessary. Prepare, file with the Court and serve all necessary Court pleadings on interested parties. Prepare and serve all necessary Trust Administration notices on interested parties. Review will and trust documents for dispositive provisions. Work with client's accountants and financial advisors to provide necessary information. Prepare federal and state estate tax returns. Coordinate other tax matters. Prepare schedule of funding and distribution of assets. Coordinate shipping and distribution from estates and trusts. Office meetings and telephone conferences with Personal Representatives, Trustees and beneficiaries of estates and trusts. Prepare bills, drafts various types of correspondence. Maintain all records of the administration proceedings. Perform routine processing of trust & estate documents. Maintain client/matter files of documents and correspondence. Purge, close, and retire files. Meet required client billable hour standard set by the section. Court records. IRS death index information. Stock CUSIPs and trading symbols. Bank succession information. Florida Statutes and rules governing estate and trust administration. Track time in ProLaw time and billing software, look up client contact information including addresses, and search for client's related matters. Prepare check requests. Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; business-related field preferred. Certification(s). Notary required. Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) required; Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) preferred. 5+ years working as a probate and trust paralegal. BNA 706 and 709 or similar tax preparation software; EstateWorks estate planning and settlement software or similar; EstateVal estate valuation software or similar; and NumberCruncher or similar inventory management software experience required. HotDocs or similar document automation software, ProLaw or similar time and billing software; and FileSite or similar document management system preferred.
