Labor Relations Attorney Duties: Lead and/or participate in industry labor-management committees and processes. Serve as professional management trustee to multiple construction industry Taft-Hartley employee benefit plans (pension, health, training). Represent association clients in industry initiatives and dialog with unions, employers, elected officials, community-based organizations, and other construction industry stakeholders as directed. Oversee industry grievance-dispute resolution processes (i.e. arbitration). Support senior attorneys in arbitration and unfair labor practice proceedings. Support and perform association management functions, including planning and execution of board meetings, member meetings, and member communications. Research and provide opinions on legal questions, particularly related to labor, employment, and employee benefits law. Monitor corporate compliance matters (e.g. bylaw requirements) for 501 (6) association clients and provide related advice. Qualifications: Law degree and admitted to practice law in Minnesota (or eligible to be admitted). 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred. Relevant experience includes: labor relations, collective bargaining, labor and employment law (emphasis on the National Labor Relations Act), Taft-Hartley employee benefit plans, union grievance-dispute resolution, and association management; experience with marketing and technology is also desirable. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. Highly skilled in the areas of leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. Able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Willing and able to collaborate with team members and other stakeholders. Comfortable using technology in all facets of work.
