This firm is absolute huge, with offices and attorneys worldwide. Surprisingly, however, there is a good bit of collaboration between offices within any given practice area. One associate we know has worked for partners in three cities, and is perfectly comfortable handling projects from any of these lawyers. With some unexplained attrition of late, this firm has more work than it can handle, but continues to be highly discriminating in terms of the associates that are hired. Washington D.C office is looking for an intellectual property technical specialist with experience as a mechanical or chemical engineer/patent agent. The candidate will assist in managing the intellectual property portfolio of a large client corporation in addition to general responsibilities. Will maintain electronic and paper prior art collections; review competitor published and issued patents; monitor prosecution progress for a variety of pending patent applications; and provide litigation support. Candidates with solid technical writing skills, and a B.S. in ME, CE, EE or closely related field is essential.
