Seeking Criminal Defense Attorney with 3+ years experience in a criminal defense setting or District Attorney/Public Defender s office. The candidate must have experience with jury trials, preliminary hearings, and felony cases. Will be expected to: Perform all aspects of criminal defense representation including jury trial Review case files outside of court, identify weaknesses in prosecution s case and appear in court for arraignments, pretrial conferences, and law and motion hearings. Maintain confidentiality and objectivity. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judicial officers and team members and be comfortable with representing persons from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. Issue spot and develop strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases. Negotiate and settle cases or prepare matters for jury trial. Perform legal research and analyze and apply legal principles and precedents, facts, and evidence to legal problems. Draft law and motion pleadings and present those statements of law, facts, and arguments clearly, logically, and effectively both written and orally. Be comfortable using electronic client engagement and case management software. Effectively manage a substantial caseload. We are looking for a candidate who: Will contribute innovative ideas and novel arguments for each case file. Will maintain a good rapport with clients and treat them with respect, compassion, and kindness no matter the nature of the case. Will greet opposing counsel, courtroom staff, and judicial officers with pleasantries and maintain a professional attitude no matter the outcome of a proceeding or the length of the wait in the courtroom. Will be persistent and tenacious with their efforts in securing a better deal for clients. Will operate with the highest level of ethics and understand that what matters most is what do when think no one else is watching. Will show up for work and court on time and in professional and appropriate attire. Will participate in Bar Association activities and attend additional criminal defense CLE trainings.
