Associate Attorney The candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks associated with debt collection. Will handle and provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations impacting the company and advise the business as appropriate. Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents. Should have a J.D. degree from accredited law school. Requires membership in the State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in the state of Nebraska. Experience in litigation and consumer debt collection litigation desired. Prior experience managing Attorneys and legal staff preferred. Background in civil litigation and experience attending court proceedings a must. Should have knowledge of federal, state and local laws. Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations is required. Advanced knowledge and thorough understanding of collection law with respect to regulatory requirements is needed. Experience in consumer credit and/or drafting and negotiating ideal. Should have ability to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc. Must have strong academic credentials.
