Paralegal Duties: Work directly with attorney and legal staff; provide support with research for trials or due diligence. Research and analyze legal sources and client situations. Review and organize materials that require filing. Facilitate fax filing and joinders. Identify and categorize a variety of legal document types (e.g., correspondence, pleadings, discovery, agreements, and corporate documents). Draft legal documents. File legal motions. Interview clients. Follow established quality control processes to ensure accuracy. Utilize a computerized records management system and scanning to identify, categorize, store, and retrieve records.. Review, fact-check and process invoices. Maintain accurate and thorough client files. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work. Perform administrative functions such as answering phones/front desk, managing mail, office resources and equipment, and records management. Qualifications: Paralegal Certificate, or 2 years in a law office performing administrative or paralegal tasks. 2+ years of college (preferred). Data entry (2+ years preferably in a law office). Administrative experience (2+ years). Excellent organizational, verbal, and communication skills. Must be a self starter and have a thirst to learn. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality Know how to manage time to complete tasks and operate under strict deadlines. Adept in technology. Exercise sound judgment within established policies and procedures. Be resourceful and think things through. Must be detail oriented. Knowledge of administrative, clerical procedures, and office systems; proficient in the use of computers and MS Office. Ability to multi-task (i.e., perform administrative tasks, answer phones, receive visitors, order supplies, provide general information to the public, scheduling). Act in a courteous, professional, and customer-focused manner. Ability to be honest and speak your mind. Trustworthy and considerate with good work ethics. Type 60 WPM.
