Paralegal Duties: Uses basic knowledge of discovery and litigation process in state of operation to assist attorneys with file handling. Uses basic knowledge of civil procedure to draft routine pleadings, discovery, motions, and other documents as assigned by attorneys. Uses basic understanding of medical terminology, records, typical injuries and treatment to assist attorneys with medical records collection and review of medical records in assigned files. Develops skills in use of trial presentation technology to assist attorneys in trial preparation and presentation. Qualifications: 3-5 years of paralegal discovery and trial experience; preferably in Insurance Defense. Plaintiff's personal injury experience will be considered. Prior litigation or paralegal experience, paralegal degree/certificate/certification, medical training, or relevant coursework or legal studies degree is required. Must have knowledge of civil litigation procedures, as well as local court rules. Insurance Defense/Personal Injury discovery experience preferred. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, strong software/technological skills, and experience working in a paperless fast pace environment where all work is time-sensitive are required for this role. Must be reliable, dedicated, and team-oriented with a professional appearance and demeanor.
