Municipal Attorney The candidate will provide advice to a broad range of clients including municipalities, developers, private and public corporations, on a range of municipal matters. Communicating with clients to learn about their legal concerns and providing them with advice. Developing strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively for clients. Explaining legal options to clients. Bringing possible outcomes or threats to clients attention. Building relationships with clients based on trust. Developing arguments and representing clients in civil and administrative legal proceedings. Preparing legal documents, such as contracts, ordinances, motions, resolutions and pleadings, accurately and in a timely manner. Staying informed on current legislation and case law. Finding ethical solutions to legal matters. All steps of litigation including pleadings, discovery and trial. The candidate should have 2+ years of experience in municipal law. Municipal law experience, including planning, zoning, and land use experience required.
