Family Law Staff Attorney The candidate should have strong research and writings skills as well as a practical knowledge in Family Law. Membership and good standing with the Washington State Bar Association is required. Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school is required. Must have 1 year of experience in Family Law. Should have experience with civil procedure and court rules for King County and the State of Washington. Should have Working knowledge of court rules (including King County e-filing, e-service and working copies procedure), discovery processes, and case management. Drafting pleadings and preparing state forms in various proceedings (dissolution/legal separation, paternity, support modification, DVPO, etc.). Drafting and serving discovery materials (interrogatories and requests for production, subpoenas, deposition setup). Drafting and preparing trial materials (witness lists, exhibit lists, joint statements of evidence). Working with clients to obtain necessary documentation to complete discovery requests and satisfy financial source document rules. Organizing and managing files, documents, and exhibit. Scheduling and meeting deadlines for Family Law case schedules. Ability to manage multiple attorney caseloads and deadlines. Familiarity with Practice Master or practice management/calendaring software (or the ability to quickly learn new software). Familiarity with FamilySoft or other support calculation software. High proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
