Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate will assist Partner and Associate throughout the litigation process including: Transcribe and prepare correspondence, pleadings, subpoenas, motions & other legal documents; Production/process of pleadings (E-filing) for all Maryland and D.C. courts; Maintain Attorneys calendar including the scheduling of IMEs, depositions, client & witness meetings as well as entering all dates from court Scheduling Orders and/or other deadlines as mandated by the courts. Coordinate information and communications among clients, physicians, insurance adjusters and - expert witnesses. Organize & maintain client files including the filing of all correspondence, pleadings, and other related materials. Assist with trial preparation including document production, exhibits and organization of materials. Manage the development and organization of large document production; Obtain medical records pursuant to HIPPA guidelines; Other duties include: Transcription, Time Entry and Bill Review & Phone duties as needed. should have strong understanding of the litigation process including working knowledge of discovery and subpoena process as well as 2 years of experience employed at a small to mid-size firm. Must have transcription & typing skills (65-70 wpm). Should have excellent writing & verbal skills imperative.
