This large Missouri-based firm has offices across the midwest and the East Coast. We are seeing a great deal of growth with this firm, especially dealing with its government contracts in DC. Best known for its commerce and corporate work, this firm offers associates a unique opportunity to develop their specialties.
Chicago office seeks Technical Specialist preferably with 2 years experience in a computer-related field and law firm experience. The candidate will work under the supervision of the IT Site Manager, and according to established policies and procedures, the Technical Specialist is responsible for providing first level support for software applications, workstations, telephone, mobile phone, and other peripherals for the Chicago office. Job Responsibilities: Provides prompt first-level response to user questions and problems concerning desktop hardware and software, printers, wireless voice and data devices and other technology-related equipment/devices under the direction of the IT Site Manager or other appropriate St. Louis technical personnel to resolve related problems. Escalates user questions and problems to second-level responders as necessary and follows up to ensure any issues were resolved. Installs computer hardware and software per IT Site Manager direction. Sets up systems for new employees and ensures the appropriate software is installed. Coordinates additional setup issues as needed. Sets up and maintains audio-visual and videoconferencing equipment; arranges service calls as necessary. Coordinates videoconferencing setup with the STL Conference Center team. Sets up equipment for teleconferences, videoconferences or other meetings requiring media equipment. Preferred applicants should have a computer-related Associates degree. Should have thorough knowledge of Windows XP operating system and Microsoft Office 2007. Knowledge and experience supporting handheld devices, particularly Blackberry and iPhones is required. Familiarity with desktop applications used in the legal industry and experience working in a law firm is preferred. Experience programming Cisco VOIP phones, supporting audio/visual equipment required.
