Criminal Defense Associate Attorney Duties: Operates with integrity. Remains aware and attentive and takes appropriate immediate action - this applies to everyday tasks in the office as well as preparing for cases. Is committed to criminal defense and protecting the rights of those accused. Is over-prepared for hearings, works up their files, researches potential issues, guides the clients clearly and knows their cases inside and out. Is tenacious about obtaining a better outcome for our clients. Participates in ongoing training because the learning never stops. Completes tasks on time and meet deadlines. Shows up for work and court on time in professional and appropriate attire. Understands that on time means early. Comes to work with an energetic, positive, and determined attitude. Maintains a good rapport with our clients and treats them with respect. Treats office staff, judicial officers, court staff, and opposing counsel professionally. Looks and looks again for answers and leave no stone unturned. Fully participates in quarterly goal setting and performance reviews. Seeks and secures new clients for the firm. Qualifications: Experience in a private criminal defense setting or a Public Defenders office. Jury trial, preliminary hearing, and felony experience are preferred. Must be a high energy, enthusiastic, prepared, self-starter and committed to providing high quality client service.
