Paralegal Duties: Responsible for preparing, processing, reviewing, tracking and maintaining legal documents and files on behalf of the firm and the firm s clients. Efficiently organizes new files and maintains files. Applies knowledge of the Workers Compensation process to the preparation of legal documents. Prepares case files, binders, summaries, and other paper/electronic case materials. Oversees timely ordering of medical, employment and insurance company records by legal assistants. Tracks and follows up on requests for information and discovery process. Analyzes pleadings and case matters. Tabs all material that may have an adverse effect on the client and/or case. Confers with attorneys and clients regarding the status and findings. Prepares letters, memorandum and other correspondence accurately according to firm standards and in an efficient and timely manner. Function as liaison between attorney and clients and keeps current with client updates. Handles client calls and answers questions; assists them in solving problems and directing them to other agencies, medical treatment, etc. Qualifications: Paralegal degree/certificate preferred. 3 years' experience in working in Workers Compensation area strongly preferred. Experience in workers compensation or insurance defense. Paralegal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience may be substituted for training/experience on a year-for-year basis. Advanced computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Pro, Internet, email, and other software as required.
