Legal Secretary The candidate duties include obtaining medical records, police reports, drafting letters, and tasks related to wrongful deaths, infancies and discovery. Must have extreme attention to detail, and be able to learn and understand the process from intake to settlement or litigation. Must be able to maintain a tickler system to ensure data is received and sent out within deadlines. Must have excellent computer skills as well as communication skills. Must be able to answer a multi-line phone system, accurately record information, and direct calls to the appropriate individual when needed to back up the Receptionist. Must be able to learn and use software programs such as Time Matters, Westlaw, Excel and other Microsoft products. HS Diploma or GED required; secretarial science or education as a legal secretary is preferred. 1-3 years prior experience working in a law firm preferred. 1-3 years in a customer service position is required.
