Criminal Defense Attorney The Matian Firm, APC is seeking a talented and experienced Associate Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney to gain valuable experience and further their career with an established firm in the Houston area. The Associate Criminal Defense Attorney will work with the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney to manage their caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. Responsibilities: Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents pertaining to their case Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advise them on best strategies Manage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and performing legal research Analyze possible outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents Manage workload of cases Provide legal analysis to determine any possible case benefits Accrue additional evidence to support clients case or for arguments against the prosecution's charges Prepare clients for depositions; determine essential goals of case strategy and gather information from witnesses and important experts to support client's positions Qualifications: At least 3 years of Criminal Defense Experience Experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local level A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with fellow associates Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Excellent compensation package Paid parking Paid time off The Matian Firm, APC is an equal employment opportunity employer and welcomes everyone regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or genetics.
