Paralegal. Insurance Defense Firm The candidate's duties include preparing and processing records subpoenas with consistent follow up with photocopy services; preparing HIPAA authorizations for release of confidential records, obtaining signed authorizations and processing same; preparing, e-filing, and serving pre-trial documents; organizing and compiling exhibits for trial binders (paper and PDF); and pretrial and trial document preparation. Will have their own team of attorneys. There is significant client and opposing counsel interfacing so one must possess an even temperament and ability to work with others. Must possess exemplary grammar and spelling skills. Should have 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience. Paralegal certificate required. Should have 3+ years of experience in a tort law environment. Medical malpractice experience is a plus. Experience of 5 years in litigation, law firm, the legal and legal assistant is preferred. Paralegal experience of 3 years is also preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Westlaw drafting software programs; pro-law calendaring and Prolaw document management program or comparable programs such as iManage, Abacus, Compulaw, or other law office designed software.
