Criminal Defense Attorney The candidate will handle misdemeanor and felony charges from start to finish. Travel to cover routine court appearances in the valley and Arizona. Discuss case facts and law in a clear, easy to understand manner with clients. Conduct interviews with police officers and witnesses. Negotiate plea offers with prosecutors. Travel to jail to meet with in-custody defendants. Determine the best strategy for defending a client and being able to articulate it to the supervising attorney. Draft and argue substantive motions. Misdemeanor and felony jury trials. Preferred 1+ years of criminal defense and/or prosecution experience. The candidates case will range from misdemeanor to felony level charges in the Justice, Superior, and Municipal Courts throughout Arizona. Will be a self-starter, organized, detail-oriented, passionate about defending people's rights, and comfortable in a courtroom. Will be given the autonomy and support to determine the best legal strategy for defending cases and then expected to execute that strategy. Graduation from an accredited law school required. 1+ year(s) Arizona Criminal Law experience (defense, prosecutor, judicial) required. Licensed to Practice Law in Arizona required.
