Associate Attorney The candidate will handle a high volume of small to medium sized property damage insurance subrogation litigation files and suits (car accidents, floods, fires, etc.). Responsibilities include file review, suit drafting, disclosure drafting, drafting and responding to discovery, legal research, motion drafting, monitoring deadlines, interviewing insureds and witnesses, negotiating, and litigating primarily by superior court arbitration and justice court bench trials. Position also involves assisting and working with senior partner handling large to very large complex insurance subrogation cases against at fault persons, entities, contractors and product sellers/manufacturers (assisting with discovery, disclosures, depositions, arbitrations and complex jury trials). May also require on occasion assisting partners with insurance defense, plaintiff personal injury and wrongful death suits (assisting with discovery, investigation, motions, arbitrations, and jury trials). The candidate should have a degree from ABA accredited law school and admission to the Arizona Bar. Minimum of three(3) full time active years as a litigation attorney in a relevant field of law. A general working knowledge of personal injury, insurance defense and specific experience with and an understanding of the operations at an insurance company would be beneficial. Must be a dependable lawyer with good judgment and general litigation skills. Must have solid writing skills, great attention to detail, able to manage a high volume of work and work well in a small firm team environment. Must be professional, diplomatic and able to effectively communicate with insureds, witnesses, experts and insurance company claims staff.
