Insurance Attorney - First Party Responsibilities: Analyze insurance client needs to identify solutions, and determine strong case arguments. Assume responsibility for administrative staff members as they carry out client invoicing, compile billing records, schedule meetings, and complete other insurance case-related tasks. Help oversee insurance firm paralegals, litigation associates, administrative staff, legal assistants, and others, as assigned. Represent clients with insurance coverage and civil litigation proceedings to argue court motions and in-house claims. Conduct legal research, audit for coverage issues, and draft legal documents to develop and implement winning defense strategies for cases. Manage caseload with little to no supervision. Create legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and correspondence for use in court proceedings. Handle depositions, mediations, court appearances, evidentiary and special set hearings. Conduct legal research, audit for coverage issues, and draft legal documents to develop and implement winning strategies for cases. Weigh all available options for successful insurance case first-party action and advise clients accordingly. Qualifications: Graduation from law school with JD degree and experience representing clients for 2+ years. Solid decision-making, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills are non-negotiable. Effectively manage the demands of a heavy caseload without the need for supervision. More than one year in the insurance industry as an insurance coverage attorney, insurance defense attorney, or similar role in an insurance law firm is necessary. Must hold and maintain membership in local bar association. Experience using legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis required. Definitive decision-making, strong public speaking, and strong interpersonal communications skills are vital. The ability to work independently and meet all required needs of a heavy caseload is crucial.
