This is the Tokyo office of a major international law firm. The practice in this office includes corporate, litigation, and intellectual property. This office handles legal matters in Japan for many of the firm's huge, global clients in the US, Europe, and Asia. New York City office seeks Marketing Coordinator preferably with 3+ years of law firm marketing-related experience. The candidate will report to the Senior Marketing Manager. Will, under general supervision, be responsible for coordinating and executing the New York office marketing and business development efforts, including proposal support, event planning, document preparation, and research. Liaise with San Francisco Marketing Services office. Work closely with vendors, attorneys, and staff on firm branding and provide assistance on pitch requests. Coordinate and implement marketing initiatives for select practice areas based in the New York office. Interface on all levels with attorneys and senior executives. Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of events, conference sponsorships, trade show activities, and seminars. At the request of the Marketing Managers, prepare client presentation materials such as requests for proposals, client pitches, and presentations. Prepare and edit business development documents, collateral materials, correspondence, reports, memoranda, e-mails, and other written correspondence. Works with the firmwide marketing group in the development of announcements, brochures, newsletters, surveys, and other collateral to promote the firm's pro bono and diversity achievements. Conduct market research utilizing Firm and online resources, including Lexis, Hoovers, and Martindale Hubbell. Work with marketing team in NY office to identify new marketing opportunities, develop new approaches to business development needs and create new processes to improve efficiencies. Coordinate marketing efforts and share information with marketing colleagues in other offices. Work directly with marketing team in NY office to apply brand standards and create marketing collateral for seminars, conferences, social events, announcements, advertisements, and brochures. Coordinate efforts and work with creative staff in the San Francisco office to utilize templates/files, as needed. Liaise with graphic designers, prepare files for print production, and perform press checks. Research stock photos online to translate branding of events into visual identity. Remain current in industry trends in Marketing and the legal profession. Ensure expertise in technology relevant to the position; proactively use most current technology to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency. Ensure client service and performance consistently meet Career and Compensation Management Program ("CCMP") expectations for Matrix Level 4. Regularly review position against Matrix expectations and develop goals to further increase position value. Should have a B.A. in Marketing or related field. Must have experience with and working knowledge of Quark, file preparation, press-checks, and proficiencies working with other databases and marketing-related business development tools. Should have strong technology skills in MS Office products such as Word, Power Point, and Excel. Familiarity with InterAction software a plus. Typing proficiency at 45+ wpm preferred.
