Attorney (Appeals and Litigation) The candidate will legal research and writing. This is the most important aspect of job. will be drafting petitions, complaints in federal court, motions for summary judgment (and defenses to those motions), briefs to the court, and prepare outlines for depositions and testimony required to support our clients position. A significant part of our practice is in federal court in Texas and California. Our pleadings and motions must be well researched and written. There is little or no room for errors in citations and analysis of holdings. Must be admitted by the Texas Bar Association. Graduated in top 30% (preferred) of your Law School. (Transcript required.) Some litigation experience is required. Experience drafting pleadings and briefs, and arguing contested motions before the Court. Excellent communication and writing skills. Proven experience meeting deadlines, without last minute work. Involved in some competitive activity (or activity requiring personal discipline) outside of work.
