Attorney Recruiting Manager The candidate will direct summer associate, lateral associate, and science advisor recruitment and hiring activities. Collaborate with the firm's Hiring Partner and Managing Partner to develop, implement, and update lawful and effective lawyer hiring policies, procedures, and practices across all offices. Partner with firm leadership to develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract and hire top legal talent. Develop, maintain, and oversee the production of attorney recruitment materials. Prepare annual recruiting reports including financial analyses on program effectiveness and cost. Work with Practice Group Leaders, Office Managing Partners, and Directors of Administration to understand current and future talent needs. Supervise lateral partner recruiting by coordinating with the finance team, Directors of Administration, and the Managing Partner to assemble and review lateral partner questionnaires for consideration by the Executive Board. Ensure effective communication with appropriate internal groups regarding recruiting programs and activities. Oversee the screening of all unsolicited resumes and respond to all applicants, solicit departmental interest, and extend invitations to interview and maintain regular status report. Monitor applications and maintain ViRecruit database. Maintain knowledge of national, regional and local trends in the legal marketplace. Direct all aspects of the summer associate program. Ensure regular communication with all summer associates prior to arrival. Manage summer associate program budget; develop and implement program spending policies and guidelines. Direct pre-arrival planning and information gathering. Direct and monitor evaluation system for summer associates. Direct planning of all social events and attend events. Direct planning of all training events. Participate in mid-summer reviews and exit interviews. Supervise preparations for summer associate offers meeting, attend meeting and vote on candidate offers. Oversee all aspects of on-campus interview program (school selection and interview sign-up, public relations efforts at schools, resume review and selection, interview scheduling, decision making process and follow-up). Develop and maintain relationships with law schools career placement offices. Coordinate campus/job fair/screening interviews. Coordinate annual interviewer training. Make presentations at law schools to attract students to firm. Direct planning of campus recruiting events. Select media outlets and direct the placement of job postings. Review resumes for lateral positions. Act as primary contact with candidates prior to interviews. Direct interview scheduling, facilitate decision making process and follow-up. Interview lateral associate candidates and provide feedback to Hiring Partner, Managing Partner, and Practice Group Leaders. Manage and circulate the national lateral tracking chart on a biweekly basis in partnership with the Directors of Administration. Distribute the monthly search firm newsletter. Coordinate with Directors of Administration to ensure firmwide recruiting practices are being maintained and improved. Update the firm's recruiting presentation for distribution and use with search firm and lateral candidates. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with search firms. In conjunction with Lead Scientist, select media outlets and direct the coordination of the placement of job postings. Direct interview scheduling, facilitate decision making process and follow-up. Interview candidates and provide feedback to Lead Scientist and Department Head. Develop and manage alumni relations strategies, plans, initiatives, and projects to foster connections for attorneys that previously worked at the firm as well as our current attorneys, helping them develop business for the firm and increasing the potential for client referral. Lead the preparation of alumni relations materials and processes, including but not limited to newsletters, social media posts, LinkedIn groups, and website. Ensure content on the alumni website including articles, events, photos, videos, career moves, and job postings are tailored to the alumni audience. Partner with the Business Development team to identify connections and targets for new business development opportunities. Conceptualize and oversee alumni events including social gatherings, alumni CLE programs, etc.. Oversee the completion of all lawyer personnel surveys (American Lawyer Mid-Level and Summer Associate Surveys, VAULT Associate Survey, NALP Associate Salary Survey). Maintain relationship with the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) and pursue meaningful leadership positions. Maintain relationship and serve in leadership positions with local Legal Recruitment Administrators city group. Other projects as directed. Bachelor's degree is required. Should have 5+ years experience in recruiting with demonstrated success of managing process and high visibility projects. Experience in coordinating and managing attorney recruiting and development activities in a large law firm environment is preferred.
