Hotshot Paralegal Duties: Performs substantive billable legal work under the direction of attorneys. Relieve the attorneys works for of a portion of the legal tasks involved each case so the attorneys can focus on more substantive and strategic tasks. In charge of case management, tracking case deadlines, coordinating depositions and court appearances, and managing discovery. Responsible for assisting the Firm s lawyers by researching legal precedent, investigating facts, and preparing legal documents. May also be asked to conduct research to support a legal proceeding, to formulate a defense, or to initiate legal action, assisting the attorneys to prepare for hearings, and depositions, interacting with clients and providing client status updates on a scheduled basis. Contributes regularly to the development of the Firm s policies and procedures that affect the paralegal role. Qualifications: An associate s or Bachelor's degree and ideally is a certified paralegal in the State of Florida. 1-3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the areas of litigation or intellectual property, and high-level organizational skills. Ability to follow instructions precisely and execute tasks consistently are essential parts of the job. Start date: September 1, 2018
