Legal Assistant/Paralegal Responsibilities: Prepare and revise legal documents, pleadings, discovery, correspondence, memoranda and e-mails. Assemble documents and exhibits for service and court filings. Handle E-filings with courts. Proofread documents, schedule depositions and meetings for the attorney. Manage and maintain the attorney s calendar and the master calendar for deadlines. Manage the day-to-day paper flow and filing, which can be heavy, and other details of the office including ordering supplies, dealing with vendors of various services from court reporting agencies, copier, etc.
The candidate must have Associate s Degree with 2+ years of civil litigation and discovery experience, and be familiar with filing and e-filing in different courts and/or have the aptitude to learn and be taught these details/figure out what needs to get done, to effectuate timely service and filing. Bar admission candidates are welcome to apply. The ability to pay attention to detail and insure a high quality output for me, my clients, opposing attorneys and the court, is required. Willingness and aptitude to understand the litigation and discovery process from beginning to end.
