Legal Secretary The candidate produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics (Dragon Voice Recognition and Phillips Dictation). Conserves attorneys time by reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; initiating telecommunications; organizing client conferences, and attorney meetings; scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses, and other special functions; preparing expense reports. Coordinates and setup in-house client appointments. Maintains attorney calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, depositions, hearings and travel; recording and monitoring court appearance dates. Set up and maintain databases and files. Follow office systems. Maintains client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential. The candidate should have 1 year of experience. Must have knowledge and experience with MS Office 2010. Working knowledge of legal procedures and legal terminology an advantage. Knowledge of local, state and federal filing rules an advantage. Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills is needed. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures essential. Transcription and typing skills needed. Verbal and written communication skills essential.
