Legal Secretary The candidate s responsibilities will include the following: Prepare correspondence, contracts, memoranda and other documents in draft and in final form. Set up, maintain, and ensure that files are kept current, including classifying, arranging files, filing, and storing information in both electronic and hard copy format. Handle a large volume of electronic and paper filing. Monitor, prioritize, organize, and facilitate daily workflow in order to meet project deadlines. This includes all administrative tasks including monitoring e-mail, scheduling meetings, calendar management, processing expense reimbursements, etc. Open new matters as requested and arrange for conflicts checks. Review and revise attorney(s) time records. Should have 5-7 years of legal secretarial experience. Experience with education, contracts, construction, real estate, and/or litigation matters and processes is a plus. Must have exceptionally strong organizational skills and work ethic in delivering client products in a timely and organized manner; excellent verbal and written communication with attorneys, clients, counsel and colleagues; Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar and basic legal terminology; Knowledge of law office practices and procedures; Skill in the use of software systems such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Nitro, and Power Point; Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, while working effectively to meet deadlines; Ability to establish good rapport with attorneys, clients, and other employees; Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; Ability to accurately proofread a variety of documents, including lengthy contracts, and to pay attention to detail.
