Associate Attorney (Bankruptcy) Duties: Management of assigned client base (50+ cases). Obtain a positive resolution for clients (cash settlement, debt relief/modification, etc.). Research and construct new angles and tactics to win against well-funded adversaries. Maintain a David vs Goliath attitude. Major Areas of Responsibility include:. Create and manage a litigation plan for multiple clients. Negotiate loss mitigation solutions with opposing counsel. Contact clients and/or third parties to obtain information necessary to support legal arguments. Set, prioritize, and work within deadlines. Document activity with clients and third parties in our online Case Management System. Requirements: Licensed Texas Attorney in good standing. Admitted to Federal (Southern, Northern or Western District). 1 year of bankruptcy experience. Experience in representing businesses in bankruptcy (Ch 7 & Ch 11). Experience in consumer law (or criminal defense, due to settlement experience). Experience with debt, mortgage, real estate, title, property insurance, credit, or related industries. Bi-lingual is a plus. Must have courtroom experience. Must be organized and able to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to problem solve and not accept no A? for an answer. Must be able to successfully communicate and negotiate with people at various levels. Must be a friendly and effective communicator by phone. Must be honest and above reproach. Must possess a high level of attention to detail. Must be able to successfully prioritize and handle a high volume of cases/clients. Must have intermediate computers skills, (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, web). Must be able and willing to support multiple people (multiple bosses A?). Must have a willing attitude, ready to help any team member as needed. Must be flexible and adaptive to changing policies and procedures.
