Paralegal Responsibilities: Maintains and updates case list. Summarizes medical records. Prepares and issues subpoenas for records. Monitors cases for product identification. Reviews complaints and prepares responsive pleadings. Calendars and monitors deadlines. Tracks, monitors and helps organize electronically-filed documents. Prepares shell discovery responses and client-based discovery requests. Assist attorneys in trial preparation. Updates databases. Prepares client based reports. Works heavily in Excel.
Qualifications: Paralegal degree/certificate preferred. 3-5 years of complex litigation experience in both State and Federal Courts. Knowledge of Indiana procedural rules relating to Mass Tort cases and civil cases. Asbestos background a plus. Experience with all phases of discovery and trial preparation. Familiarity with litigation databases. Experience with studying and analyzing medical documents, assessing patient treatments, and preparing medical summaries. Detail-oriented with solid communication and time management skills.
