Seeking Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant (Government Contracts Practice) with 5+ years of experience to support its government contracts practice. Candidate will have significant client contact, so professional communication skills are critical, as well as a solid grasp of English grammar, composition, editing, and writing. Will apply these skills as you proof-read correspondence, pleadings, draft subpoenas, prepare form objections to discovery requests and keep track of litigation scheduling, ordering transcripts and maintaining deposition transcripts. Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a propensity for software or technology based programs necessary in the day-to-day operations of our government contracts group. Desired Qualifications: High school diploma and 5+ years of legal secretarial experience preferably in government contracts or litigation; Bachelors degree preferred. Highly organized, self-starter, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively under pressure at times, meet short deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team. Ability to support multiple attorneys and coordinate multiple appointments and schedules to produce accurate work despite frequent interruptions in a fast paced work environment. Excellent customer service, problem solving and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented attitude. Minimum intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and use new software programs as required. Revise and proofread documents to ensure accuracy of copy, grammar, punctuation and syntax. Set up and maintain client files, to include documentation obtained from clients and opposing counsel. Must take pride in your work and aspire to grow within a reputable law firm.
