Paralegal The candidate will prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and court orders for review, approval, and use by attorney. Will correspond with clients and prepare spreadsheets and documents for Inventory and Appraisement and Proposed Support Decision. File pleadings with court clerks. Coordinate delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action. Conduct intake calls with potential new clients and prepare attorneys for initial consultation. Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences. Attend trials as needed. Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving recurring problems that arise in family law cases. Draft discovery requests, calendar relevant due dates, and prepare correspondence to opposing counsel and/or opposing party. Assist clients to comply with discovery requests and compile requested documents.
The candidate should have Undergraduate degree. Paralegal Certificate preferred. Must have 3+ years of Texas Family Law experience. Must have solid understanding of the Texas Family Code and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. Must have exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with superior attention to detail. Should have excellent prioritization, problem solving and time management skills.
