Dental insurance # Associate Immigration Attorney is looking for an experienced Associate Immigration Attorney to join their team located in San Antonio, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual to work with a leading law firm that specializes in Immigration Law and provides high-quality immigration solutions to its clients. ## Job Duties The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal representation to individuals and/or families in immigration matters. This includes providing representation before the Immigration Court (EOIR), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), Administrative Appeals Office, in custody matters before Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Asylum Office, State and federal courts, Department of State, agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and in credible/reasonable fear interviews and applications for affirmative relief before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Specific duties include: - Representing non-detained and detained individuals in proceedings before the Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals, USCIS, and other agencies - Effectively managing a diverse caseload and adhering to strict deadlines - Explaining immigration concepts and presenting strategic solutions - Visiting and conducting an intake with detained individuals at centers (as needed) - Preparing diverse immigration applications/filings, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions - Reviewing immigration applications/packets and making any necessary adjustments - Presenting to and working with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law - Meeting with prospective clients for immigration consultations and determining strategy - Developing strategy and preparing clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony - Supervising and providing guidance and leadership to support staff - Preparing and submitting legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases ## Qualifications Skills and Abilities The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and abilities: - At least 1-3 years of Immigration Law Experience - Ability to follow instructions, work with a team, adhere to procedures, be very-well organized, work in a fast-paced environment, deliver customer service - Bilingual (English/Spanish) required - Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Removal Litigation (Non-detained and Detained), Refugee and Asylum, and affirmative USCIS filings - Use internal systems (we use InsZoom), adhere to procedures for documentation and client satisfaction purposes - Communicate with clients and/or government agents, elicit information in a timely manner, prepare immigration forms, letters, and other documents - Ensure all deadlines are met, monitor case statuses, update internal case management system, run reports, update clients - Provide exceptional customer service - Ability to lift up to 20 pounds ## Minimum Requirements The minimum requirements for the position are: - Juris Doctor degree with active bar membership (Texas preferred) - 1-3 years experience in Immigration Law - Bilingual (Spanish) - Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and references ## Compensation Compensation is dependent on experience and offers competitive pay, paid time off/vacation, 401(k), and health insurance.
