Senior Paralegal Duties: Draft ethics letters, engagement letters, disengagement letters, and conflict waiver letters. Draft documents, such as correspondence, status reports, summaries, memoranda, corporate minutes, financial records, governmental applications and forms and other documents as requested. Prepare factual summaries of client or file, including case-related documents. Review, analyze, organize, index and maintain files. Files consist of, pleadings, memoranda, research, correspondence and depositions; document production; deposition, arbitration, hearing and trial notebooks; transaction and minute books or other corporate records. Perform general research, such as legal research and legislative history research; cite check briefs and other documents; analyze and summarize information obtained into a coherent written memorandum or brief for submission to attorneys. Keep abreast of changes in the law . Other Duties as Requested. Assist the Firm Administrator with development of firm systems and processes, including file management, client collections, business development/strategy, and training. Interact with clients and potential clients regarding marketing, intake, their relationship with , billing, etc.. Takes leadership role in providing support/direction/supervision to Legal Assistants. Any other task required to assist the law firm function effectively, as assigned by the firms President, Firm Administrator, or the responsible attorney on a particular matter. Qualifications: Associate degree or Bachelor's degree at an accredited institution; formal training from an accredited paralegal program or commensurate experience. 5+ years' experience working in a law office as paralegal or legal secretary; experience in commercial and/ or business litigation matters preferred. Demonstrated commitment to a career in the legal profession. Experience with filing documents in state and federal court and understanding federal, state, and local court-required rules. High level of experience in Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and basic database and case management systems required. Availability to work late and be accessible by cell phone in the evenings and on weekends as needed. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while completing tasks accurately. Consistently demonstrate complete ownership A? mentality for assigned areas/projects/tasks. Collaborative team player with excellent listening and communication skills. Works well under pressure and has a high level of attention to detail. Strong client-relationship skills as well as the ability to use judgment, tact, discretion, and keep information confidential.
