Law Firm Legal Assistant/Paralegal Job Law firm is looking for a qualified legal assistant and/or paralegal to join their team in their Suffolk County office. This full-time position offers a salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 per year with comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities: Provide legal support for at least three attorneys. Draft, format, and service of correspondence and legal documents, including answers, third-party complaints, discovery demand and responses, motions, etc. File legal documents with the court. Process HIPAA-compliant authorizations and obtain medical records via various third-party record retrieval companies. Proofread and format reports to insurance carriers. Coordinate all aspects of independent medical examinations. Organize and maintain case files and documentation electronically. Respond to inquiries from and interact with clients, counsel and witnesses. Record billable hours. Qualifications: High School diploma/GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred. 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant/paralegal is a must. Experience with electronic court systems. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and complete tasks in a deadline-oriented environment. Ability to work efficiently with others while independently managing workload. Must possess a positive attitude and be personally motivated to succeed.
