Closing Paralegal The candidate provides general office assistance to the attorney, opens the initial title orders, and gathers the information needed in order to complete a real estate closing. Helps answer the telephone, orders office supplies, greets parties to the closing, monitor the general office email account (in addition to their own) to receive the initial title orders. Opens files in Softpro, orders title with third party vendors, sends out initial preclosing information sheets. Order mortgage, lien, tax, and HOA payoffs, review title exam and bring appropriate matters to attorney's attention, prepare any documents needed to clear title issues, Coordinate with Parties to the Transaction. Prepare and send title commitments to lender, coordinate closing date, time, and specifics of closing with agents, coordinate receipt of closing documents from lender, scan all preclosing documents into the file. Forward preclosing documents and closing documents to closers in Central. Assist attorneys with any aspect of closings in office. Obtain funding number from lender. Cut checks needed by parties at closing. Return package to lender after closing. Send documents to clerk of court for recording. Must possess a High School Diploma (Associate Degree preferred). Must possess excellent knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access. Must be able to structure work assignments to produce maximum quality and quantity with a minimum of supervision. Must possess a cooperative attitude and the ability to communicate well with people and maintain harmonious working relationships.
