Legal Secretary, Trusts And Estates The candidate will prepare correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents (including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills & Health Care Proxies, Affidavits, etc.) from written and/or oral instructions. Communicates effectively with clients, potential clients, internal and external attorneys and office personnel, court personnel, financial institutions, insurance companies, accountants, government agencies, etc. regarding legal matters to ensure that all matters of decedent's estate are accurately and properly administered. Answer potential client intakes for Trusts & Estates Practice Group and create/open files. Other clerical functions include scheduling appointments, preparing outgoing mail for delivery, copying, scanning, and rotating with other office staff providing receptionist and errand coverage. Knowledge of legal principles and practices acquired through past experience or training. Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills to communicate effectively and provide information with sensitivity, courtesy and tact. Ability to learn and utilize a variety of software programs. Knowledge of estate planning, trusts and estates law. High School degree required; AAS degree preferred. 2+ years experience private practice position preferred. Notary Public license preferred.
