Legal Secretary The candidate's duties include: Provide administrative support to three or more attorneys; Attend and take notes at meetings; Assist attorneys in collecting legal and factual documents and file motions; Communicate with opposing counsel and other parties, clients, judicial administrative staff and vendors; Schedule depositions, site inspections, hearings, closings, and meetings for attorneys and other legal staff; Accurately proofread, edit and prepare legal documents and notices, and update transactional documents with the most recently negotiated language; Transmit legal correspondence to clients, witnesses and court officials by electronic filing, mail, fax or messenger; Complete administrative forms, such as timecards and expense reports for supervising attorneys; Conduct thorough statistical/documentary research; Source and verify important case intelligence; Answer phone calls, take notes and messages and redirect calls when appropriate; Maintain and update inventories of contact details. Effective Communication (Written and Verbal): The ability to communicate clearly and coherently, interpreting information and adapting communication to suit particular situations and audience needs required. Strong Interpersonal Skills: The ability to develop and maintain relationships with others, and to work with others toward a common goal by working cooperatively, developing positive relationships, and providing information and assistance willingly required. The ability to develop and apply comprehensive planning and organizing strategies to ensure projects are appropriately prioritized and resources are used effectively and efficiently required. The ability to quickly learn and integrate new technical skills and knowledge; seeks out avenues to enhance technical skills required. Knowledge of constitution, legal terminology, regulations and court system required. Must have strong technology skills and particularly proficiency with Microsoft Suite and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, etc.). Ability to multitask and prioritize required. Ability to organize workflow and use time efficiently required. Outstanding time-management and typing skills required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Possess 2 years of hands-on experience in a Legal Secretary capacity. Real estate experience preferred.
