Associate Attorney The candidate represents mortgage servicers, banks, and secured creditors in all stages of the foreclosure process, under general supervision. Reviews case files and correspondence. Drafts and reviews motions, notices, affidavits, and other pleadings. Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, codes, and regulations. Reviews and compiles documents required for the foreclosure process. Provides legal analysis and advises on exposure and regulatory risks. Attends court hearings, trials, settlement conferences, and other appearances throughout the State of Hawaii. Maintains a clear focus on legal compliance and client timeline expectations by prioritizing a high volume of files. Reviews and updates information in the firm's case management system. Responds and addresses inquiries from clients, borrowers, and internal staff professionally and in a timely manner. Ensures deadlines are met for pleadings to be served and/or files. Provides support and direction to legal staff and other attorneys. Supports department projects, as needed. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed and performs other duties as assigned. The candidate must have a Juris Doctorate Degree with admission to practice law in the State of Hawaii and 2+ years of attorney work experience. Experience with mortgage servicing and/or mortgage-related loan purchases and sales preferred. Must be able to travel to outer islands. Should have the ability to manage and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must possess exceptional organizational skills and superior attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and exhibits sound practical judgment. Solid problem-solving and conflict resolution skills are needed. Should have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
