Nurse Paralegal Duties: Work alongside attorneys in the defense of medical malpractice cases. Reviewing, analyzing and summarizing medical records. Identifying key facts/results within medical charts. Medical and scientific literature research. Working with the attorneys to determine defense strategy based on medical records and diagnosis. Assisting the attorneys in identification and preparation of expert witnesses, challenging opposing experts, and trial work. Qualifications: Associates degree in Nursing (RN). Experience nurse within hospital setting. Various hospital department experience preferred (ER, Med/Surg, ICU, L&D). Nursing experience in a hospital setting. Strong analytical skills. Attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Eager to learn and develop from experienced attorneys and peers.
