Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Answering and directing phone calls. Supporting and assisting attorneys. Prepare, draft, proofread, edit, and format pleadings/correspondence and other legal documents. Scan and process/calendar all incoming mail, scan and mail all outgoing documents. Filing court documents and knowledge of electronic filing procedures. Organize and maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems. Coordinate depositions, meetings, and conference calls, including scheduling court reporters, videographers, and conference rooms. Maintain calendar for 1-3 attorneys, including calendaring all appearances, reminders, deadlines, and setting up CourtCall for phone appearances. Requirement: 2+ years experience as a legal secretary. Experience with document subpoenas. Knowledgeable of court deadlines, procedures, calendaring and filings, including e-filing and e-service with state and federal courts. Knowledgeable of discovery deadlines. Must type at 50 wpm . Excellent technical skills (Microsoft Office, Google Office, Adobe). Strong communication, grammar, spelling and punctuation skills. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Must be highly organized, able to multitask, detail-oriented. Ability to work independently. Familiarity with record review for relevant material, responding to discovery, pretrial filings, trial and discovery deadlines and a demonstrated ability to work in that environment. Familiarity with trial software and document management. Must be able to work under pressure.
