Junior Attorney Duties: The candidate will provide legal counsel to existing clients. Perform legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings. Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff. Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals. Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice. Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action. Responsible for many aspects of a client's case on an as-needed basis. May include communicating with clients and other counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing for and attending court hearings, mediations, and conferences, and preparing for and attending trials. Qualifications: The candidate should have a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school and a Member in good standing of the Texas Bar and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association); successful completion of the Bar exam. Must have 2+ years of experience in Family Law and 1+ years of experience in litigation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Sickening degree of attention to detail and organizational skills. Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members, and senior attorneys. Solid computer and time management skills. Familiarity with Apple products, i.e. Mac. Creative problem solving, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize are important. Ability to interact with our clients, colleagues, and co-workers in a compassionate, personable, and professional manner. Ability to report accurate time daily in the firm's case management system, per the firm's policies.
