Legal Secretary/Collections Specialist Duties: Assist paralegal with all stages of case management, from new client intake to closing of files. Assist in overflow correspondence. New client intake and opening new files. Creation and maintenance of new client paper and electronic files. Maintain filing. Maintains office supplies by checking stocks; placing and expediting orders. Open, sort, scan and save all incoming mail and faxes. Perform a variety of functions such as collecting payments, posting payments, and documenting accounts accordingly. Handling inbound and outbound phone calls with delinquent customers in a professional manner. Calculate interest, fees and penalties and generate letters to be sent to delinquent accounts. Prepare monthly reporting packages for the management team. Qualifications: High School/Diploma.Previous legal experience preferred. Collections experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proactive. should be self-sufficient and able to handle lots of responsibilities and task without supervision. Able to multitask. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with QuickBooks is a plus. A team player who participates and contributes to the success of the firm. Excellent organizational skills.
