Qualifications: Should be a civil litigation paralegal with 3+ years of experience. Experience in medical malpractice and/or auto tort case handling is desired. Senior Paralegal - Litigation Practice Group The candidate will be filing and service requirements in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, including the Federal Courts. Managing day-to-day discovery for assigned attorneys, including serving and responding to discovery, meet and confer efforts, and drafting motions, memoranda, proposed order, and supporting declarations. Drafting pleadings relevant to FLSA, FMLA and Title VII Complaints. Handle deposition and trial document preparation and organization, including motions in limine, voir dire, jury instructions. Managing attorney caseload calendaring, daily administrative tasks, and general firm interaction. Drafting demand letters and other legal correspondence. Should have 5+ years of litigation experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed. Proactive, task-oriented, and a motivated, driven self-starter is needed. Should be able to respond positively to pressure and manage several priorities. Analytical, disciplined, accountable, and a supportive team player. Litigation Attorney (Junior Associate level) The candidate will analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies. Will conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions. Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs. Drafting, processing, and digesting discovery. Communicate with lead attorneys, associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently. Represent clients in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in a broad range of employment matters, including wage & hour, whistleblowing, wrongful termination, and discrimination. The candidate should have 1-2 years of federal civil litigation experience is required, and must have a firm grasp of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Must display strong legal research and writing skills - a law review/law journal background is preferred. Should have strong organizational and time management skills. Experience managing information (i.e., time records and class data) in Excel and communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills required. Virginia Bar license is required. Bar admission to Maryland, the District of Columbia, New York and/or North Carolina is a plus.
